The State of California has issued a shelter-in-place order to slow the spread of Covid-19 so that we will have the medical resources to respond to cases that do arise. If you find the need to be outdoors for physical and mental well-being, State and local health officials are recommending that you walk, run, hike, and bike in your own neighborhood and local parks while practicing social distancing of at least 6 feet. If you find that you’re unable to maintain 6-feet of social distancing, find another location where the 6-foot distance can be maintained to protect your health and the health of your family and community.
500 Miles • 47 Cities • 9 Counties • 1 Trail
Welcome to the San Francisco Bay Trail, a planned 500-mile walking and cycling path around the entire San Francisco Bay running through all nine Bay Area counties, 47 cities, and across seven toll bridges. With over 350 miles in place, the Bay Trail connects communities to parks, open spaces, schools, transit and to each other, and also provides a great alternative commute corridor. The ultimate goal of the Bay Trail is to build a continuous shoreline bicycle and pedestrian path for all to enjoy.
